Many pools here went in during the eighties and nineties rather than the recent building boom. That isn't a problem — plenty of them are lovely pools — but it does change what's worth watching.

Equipment reaches an age
A pump or heater running for decades tends to give warning before it stops: a different sound, a longer start, a gauge sitting somewhere new. Easy to spot weekly, easy to miss otherwise — and that's the difference between a planned replacement and a green pool in August.
Older surfaces need more brushing
Where plaster has worn, algae takes hold more readily. It isn't a fault, it's a surface that's done twenty summers, and it responds well to being brushed properly every week.
The water varies here
Lutz sits across two county supplies, so hardness genuinely differs from one part of town to another — you and a friend a mile away may not have the same water. Either way it's hard enough to leave a white line on tile, and either way the answer is testing it rather than guessing.

How soon can new service start?
We can start new service within 2 to 3 days. We run Lutz routes most days of the week, so a new pool rarely waits long.
Do you cover both sides of the county line?
Yes — our routes run through Pasco and Hillsborough, and Lutz sits across both. It makes no difference to your service.
Do I need to be home for the visit?
No. A text goes out before we arrive and photos follow by email, so you can see what was done from wherever you are.
Why is my water different from my friend's a mile away?
Because Lutz draws on two different county supplies, and one blends in local groundwater. Hardness really does vary within town. Hillsborough County publishes an address lookup if you're curious about your own street.
My pool is thirty years old. Is that a problem?
Not at all, and it's common here. It just means we pay closer attention to equipment age and to brushing a surface that's done a few decades — so wear gets planned for rather than discovered on a hot weekend.
